Dr Ruth
Veterinarian & Practice Owner (BVSc (hons), MVS, MANZCVS (Feline Medicine), ISFM AdvCertFB)
Graduating from The University of Queensland in 1992 with first class honours, Dr Ruth worked in small animal practice in South East Queensland until moving to Ballarat in 1998. She joined the Eastwood Vet Clinic team shortly after and took over ownership of the practice in 2002.
Dr Ruth completed her Masters in Veterinary Studies in 2001 and was admitted via examinations as a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Feline Medicine in July 2013. More recently she has completed the ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour for Veterinary Professionals in April 2020.

Dr Megan joined our team at Eastwood in 2011 after spending 11 years working in mixed practice in the west of Ireland. She has a special interest in surgery, and orthopaedics in particular.

Originally from Ballarat, Dr Cath graduated from Sydney University in 2004, and then headed straight to the UK. She worked in mixed and small animal practice for 7 years, then moved back to Melbourne to work in emergency practice, and have a couple of kids with vet husband Tom. She moved back to Ballarat in 2017. When not at work, she is busy wrangling small children and a lovable black labrador. Dr Cath was admitted via examinations as a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine in July 2022.

Dr Isabella graduated in 2001 from the University of Veterinary Science in Vienna, Austria. She then completed the Australian Vet Board Exam in 2003 and worked in rural mixed practice until joining the team at Eastwood Vets in 2011.
Dr Isabella has a special interest in small animal medicine, emergency and critical care.
She spends her free time with her ‘furkids’ – two cross breed rescue dogs.

Nikki has worked in the industry for many years and is the mother of four children and many four legged "kids"! She studied at Box Hill and worked around Melbourne, Daylesford and now Eastwood Vets since 2007. Nikki has furthered her education in Emergency/Critical Care, Radiology and Advanced Rehabilitation Physiotherapy and has recently become the Practice Manager of Eastwood Vets as well as her role of Senior Head Surgical nurse. Her interests are wildlife rehabilitation, riding her horse 'Mako' as a proud member of the Creswick Light Horse Troop, eating fresh produce out of her garden and good wine!

Paige stared working as a nurse in 2019 while studying her certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at Gordon TAFE

Away from the clinic you will find Paige spending her free time with partner Ryan and their 5 dogs and she enjoys riding and competing on her horse Scout.

She has extensive experience in horse racing which was her full time career until she decided to follow her childhood dream to become a vet nurse. Mandy is keen to further her studies in orthopaedics, physio and rehabilitation.
Mandy has two teenage boys and the whole family enjoys the outdoors with their horses, chickens, dogs, cats, guinea pigs and rainbow lorikeet.

Steph has a soft spot for Saint Bernards and during her spare time when not at the Clinic she runs a Saint Bernard rescue and rehoming organisation.

His charm and charisma saw that he was quickly promoted to Clinic Counsellor then onto the top position of Head of Mental Health and Wellbeing as well as Chief Mischief-Maker. He enjoys interacting with all 4 or 2 legged clients and staff.
